Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators have renewed their franchise agreement for PSL for an additional 10 years, solidifying their long-term commitment to the league.
The extensions, announced during a ceremony in Islamabad, highlight the franchises’ confidence in PSL’s future growth and their dedication to expanding their global presence.
Lahore Qalandars, led by CEO Atif Rana and key players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, were the first to secure a renewal deal, making history as the first team to extend their PSL franchise agreement.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised the team’s vision and stated, “Lahore Qalandars’ renewal reflects their strong belief in the PSL. Their talent development initiatives have infused energy into Pakistan cricket, helping bring fresh talent to the forefront.”

He added, “It gives me immense pleasure that Lahore Qalandars will continue to stay with its current owners”.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer added, “Lahore Qalandars’ passion and commitment to talent development have helped shape the league’s identity. Their contributions have been instrumental in growing Pakistan cricket.” The Qalandars have won three titles in the past four years under the leadership of Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Peshawar Zalmi, led by owner Javed Afridi, also extended its franchise agreement for another decade, with ownership remaining unchanged.
Mohsin Naqvi said, “Zalmi’s renewal is a testament to their faith in PSL’s growth and their strong fan base,” said Naqvi. He added that Javed Afridi’s leadership has been pivotal to the team’s success and PSL’s popularity.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hailed Quetta Gladiators’ role in promoting PSL across Pakistan.
“I am delighted that Quetta Gladiators will continue their journey with their current owners for another decade. Mr. Nadeem Omar and his team have played a vital role in building a loyal fan base and elevating the franchise’s stature both locally and internationally,” he said.
Naqvi also praised Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar for his passion towards the game.

The renewal of the three powerful franchises further strengthens the PSL’s position in the competitive landscape, with the league expected to expand to eight teams in its 11th edition next year. Fans of both teams have expressed excitement over the extended agreements, reaffirming their status as two of the most popular and watched teams in the PSL.
