Gohar Shah said the team’s training camp will officially begin on March 22, where players and coaching staff will start preparations for the upcoming Pakistan Super League season.
Gohar Shah confirmed that Ashton Turner has been appointed as the team captain. He said Turner’s experience in Pakistani conditions and international leagues will help guide young players and improve team performance.
The owner shared that several major changes have already been made to the squad. Seven new players have been added, while two players have been traded from other teams, and five have been signed directly.
He added that more changes could happen as discussions with other franchises are still ongoing.
Gohar Shah explained that the decision to appoint Turner as captain was made after consulting with coach Tim Paine and other members of the coaching staff.

He highlighted that Turner has strong leadership experience, having been part of a Big Bash winning team multiple times and leading sides in previous seasons.
Talking about finances, Gohar Shah admitted that the franchise may face losses in the early years. However, he said the management is ready to bear losses for up to three years.
He expressed hope that revenue will increase in the future through sponsorships, partnerships, and new media rights deals.
The owner also shared his personal journey in cricket. He said he played at various levels, including Under-15, Under-19, and first-class cricket, and also represented teams in England.
He added that he was a left-arm fast bowler but had to leave cricket due to a back injury.
Gohar Shah also spoke about how he became the owner of Multan Sultans. He said he initially missed out on buying a franchise during the auction but later got an opportunity through a partnership deal.

He explained that after some financial issues in the ownership structure, his group stepped in and eventually took control of the team.
He also appreciated former stakeholders and said there are no conflicts, adding that support from previous management helped ensure a smooth transition.
Looking ahead, Gohar Shah expressed a desire to see PSL matches held in England in the future, which he believes could attract international sponsors and boost the league’s global image.
He said efforts are already underway to bring international brands on board for Multan Sultans.
