SHARJAH (Web Desk): Pakistan crushed Afghanistan in the final to clinch the Tri-Nation T20 Series, bowling them out for just 66 runs after setting a 141-run target.

Pakistan emerged victorious in Sharjah, defeating Afghanistan to claim the Tri-Nation T20 Series trophy. In the high-voltage final, Pakistan batted first and scored 140 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Afghanistan’s chase turned into a disaster. Their entire batting line-up collapsed for just 66 runs, failing to even come close to the target. Only skipper Rashid Khan (17) and Sediqullah Atal (13) managed to reach double figures. The rest of the team fell cheaply without offering resistance.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored just 5, Ibrahim Zadran 9, Mohammad Nabi 3, Noor Mohammad 3, and AM Ghazanfar 7 before departing. Darwish Rasooli, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Karim Janat walked back without scoring a single run.

Pakistan’s bowling attack was ruthless. Mohammad Nawaz produced a stunning spell, taking 5 wickets for just 19 runs. Sufiyan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed supported him with 2 wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged 1 wicket.

Earlier in Pakistan’s innings, Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 27, followed by Nawaz (25), skipper Salman Ali Agha (24), Saim Ayub (17), and Faheem Ashraf (15). However, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris disappointed again with only 2 runs, while opener Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for a duck. Shaheen Shah Afridi contributed an unbeaten 2 runs at the end.

On Afghanistan’s side, Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, while Noor Ahmad and Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed 2 each. Ghazanfar added one wicket to his tally.

With this emphatic win, Pakistan lifted the Tri-Nation T20 Series trophy, sending a strong message to their rivals ahead of future contests.

This match highlighted the stark difference in experience and temperament between the two sides. Pakistan’s moderate batting effort of 140 proved more than enough as their bowlers completely dismantled Afghanistan’s line-up. Mohammad Nawaz’s remarkable 5-wicket haul turned the game into a one-sided affair.

For Afghanistan, the collapse raised serious questions about their batting depth, as even their senior players failed to perform. For Pakistan, the victory is not only a morale boost but also a reminder of their bowling strength ahead of tougher challenges in international cricket.
