LAHORE (Web Desk): Star batter Babar Azam and fast bowler Naseem Shah are set to make their much-awaited comeback in Pakistan’s T20 International squad as selectors finalize the team for the upcoming limited-overs series against South Africa.

According to inside sources, the selection committee confirmed that no player has been ruled out of contention, ensuring all decisions are made based on team strategy and fitness. The selectors emphasized that the final squad will reflect both recent performances and long-term planning for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Babar Azam last appeared for Pakistan in T20Is during the 2024 South Africa tour, while Naseem Shah is eyeing a return to the shortest format after recovering from injury sustained during the Australia series in November last year.

The committee aims to form a well-balanced and competitive side, combining experience with fresh energy as Pakistan enters a crucial preparation phase ahead of the global event.

The three-match T20I series against South Africa will kick off on October 28 in Rawalpindi, followed by two matches at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, concluding on November 1.
