All four cricketers have achieved remarkable feats for Pakistan.
On this occasion, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed that these cricketers are ambassadors of Pakistan, and the PCB feels proud to honour them. He added that these players hold a special place in Pakistan’s cricket history, and he hopes that current cricketers will follow in their footsteps. Pakistan is fortunate to have produced such extraordinary players who have made their mark globally he said.
Former cricketers Mushtaq Mohammad, Saeed Anwar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Misbah-ul-Haq expressed their joy at being inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, stating that representing Pakistan at the international level has been a great honour. They emphasized the significance of such awards and recognition for past cricketers.
Inzamam-ul-Haq recalled many memorable performances, mentioning the iconic 1992 World Cup as a significant event for both him and the nation. He also highlighted his remarkable innings at Lord’s and his triple century against New Zealand as unforgettable moments.
Saeed Anwar shared that he never imagined playing at such a high level and remembered his first century in One day international (ODI) cricket in Adelaide, as well as his memorable innings of 194 against India and 188 in the Kolkata test. He also expressed regret about missing the 1992 World Cup due to fitness issues.
Misbah-ul-Haq expressed pride in being part of the Hall of Fame alongside such legendary players. He recalled memorable moments, including winning the 2009 T20 World Cup, whitewashing England in 2012, and being the first Asian team to win an ODI series in South Africa in 2013. He also highlighted winning the Test series in Australia in 2014 and his record-breaking fastest century.
Mushtaq Mohammad expressed his happiness at being included in the Hall of Fame and shared that seeing his legendary brother Hanif Mohammad’s name on the list made the honour even more special. He thanked the PCB for bestowing him with this recognition.
The PCB Hall of Fame, which was established to recognise Pakistan’s cricketing legends, already includes icons such as Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.
