(Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the central contracts for the 2025–26 season.

The central contracts will award 30 players based on their recent performances. The contracts are valid from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Unlike last year, when only 27 players were contracted, the board has increased the number to 30 this year, with 12 new faces making it to the list.

The players have been divided equally across three categories—B, C, and D— with 10 players in each.

Category B includes star players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hassan Ali, Saim Ayub, and Salman Ali Agha.

Category C features Abdullah Shafique, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Haris, Sohaib Maqsood, Hassan Nawaz, Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf, Sajid Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Nauman Ali.

Among the newly contracted players are Ahmad Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Sohaib Maqsood, Salman Mirza, and Sufyan Muqeem.

While nine players retained their previous category, eight players failed to secure a new contract this year, highlighting a merit-based selection system.

The PCB s updated list reflects a blend of seasoned performers and promising newcomers, with a strong emphasis on current form and future potential.
