(Web Desk): World-renowned cricket umpire Harold Dickie Bird, celebrated for his integrity and charismatic presence on the field, passed away at the age of 92.

Bird earned global respect for his impartial decisions and distinctive personality during a career that spanned decades. He officiated in 66 Test matches and 69 One-Day Internationals, leaving an indelible mark on international cricket. His services also extended to seven Women’s ODIs, including high-stakes World Cup fixtures, where his presence symbolized trust and authority.

Before stepping into umpiring, Bird was a professional cricketer, representing Yorkshire and Leicestershire in 93 first-class matches. However, it was in umpiring that he achieved worldwide recognition, becoming a beloved figure among both players and fans for his fairness and wit.
