LAHORE (Web Desk): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing of the case against Babar Azam until December 12.

The court adjourned the hearing on Pakistani cricket star Babar Azam’s petition against an Additional Sessions Judge’s order until December 12. The order issued by the Additional Sessions Judge was regarding the filing of a harassment case against Azam by a woman, Hamiza Mukhtar.

Azam’s counsel requested the court to adjourn the hearing. The court approved his counsel’s request and adjourned the hearing till Dec 12.

The original petition was filed against Babar Azam in 2021. The petitioner, Hamiza Mukhtar accused Babar Azam of harassment and blackmail. The Sessions Judge directed the registration of a case based on the woman’s accusations against Azam.

Azam’s legal team stated that the Additional Sessions Judge’s decision was based on inauthentic information and pleaded the LHC to dismiss the orders of lower s court judge.

It is worthy to note that a previous session court hearing on the petition by Hamiza resulted in an order restraining Azam and his family from harassing her.
