LAHORE (Web Desk): Islamabad United confirmed that Australian all-rounder Matthew Short has been ruled out of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

According to the franchise, Short sustained an injury during the ICC Champions Trophy and subsequently withdrew from that tournament. Though he had recovered after arriving in Pakistan to participate in the PSL, the discomfort resurfaced, prompting him to step away from the remainder of the event.

Media reports state that the decision for Short to withdraw from PSL 10 was made jointly by Islamabad United and Cricket Australia’s medical staff.

Islamabad United further confirmed that Matthew Short has returned to Australia, where he will undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of Cricket Australia. The franchise also expressed best wishes for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, Islamabad United is set to face Karachi Kings in a crucial match today. The defending champions remain unbeaten so far in the tournament.
