Champions Trophy: Afghanistan set 326-run target for England

LAHORE: (Suno News) In the eighth match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Afghanistan set a target of 326 runs for England to win on Wednesday.

The match is being played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Afghanistan batted first and scored 325 runs in their 50 overs. Afghan opener Ibrahim Zadran played an aggressive innings, scoring 177 runs off 146 balls. His innings included 6 sixes and 12 fours.

Ibrahim Zadran became the first Afghan batsman to score a century in the Champions Trophy and also broke the record for the highest score in the tournament by breaking the record of English batsman Ben Duckett.

Afghanistan’s captain Asmatullah Omarzai scored 41 runs, while Haseebullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi both made 40 runs each. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 6, and Sadiqullah and Rahmat Shah scored 4 runs each before getting out. Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan remained not out with 1 run each.

For England, Jofra Archer took 3 wickets, while Livingston claimed 2 wickets. Overton and Adil Rashid each took 1 wicket.
