The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that this team will also participate in the Triangular ODI Series against New Zealand and South Africa.
The squad includes Babar Azam (captain), Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir, and Saud Shakil as the top-order batsmen. All-rounders in the squad include Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, and Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain). Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan will be the wicketkeeper-batters.
The squad also includes spinners Abrar Ahmed and fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Pakistan cricket team selector Asad Shafiq said that players who performed well in home conditions were included in the squad.
He added that not selecting Syed Ayub was a painful decision, but it was not made hastily.
It is important to note that Pakistan s cricket team will play their first match against New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. The Triangular Series will begin on February 8 in Lahore with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand. The national team will begin their preparations on February 4.
