LAHORE: (Suno News) Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has said, “We are trying to show the best performance. Our focus is on playing and winning the World Cup.”

While addressing a press conference in Lahore, the Pakistan skipper said the Test match performance cannot be compared to T20I. “All the players have one goal that is how to win the match. Haris Rauf has recovered very quickly.”

Babar Azam also said, “If Aamir Jamal will perform better if he plays more. Players who were better for the team were selected. Planning against Virat Kohli will also be good. We try to play according to the condition.”

He also told the media, “We discuss things with our coach Gary Kirsten. He has a lot of experience, and he knows what our line-up is. He will be with us as soon as his assignment is over. We are giving all the updates to him. The sooner he comes, the better it is.”

The skipper said, “We have no individual goals. We will play as a team and give results united. It is not a one-man game. We will go with what is best for the team.”

To a question about bowler Hasan Ali, he said: “Hasan Ali has been included as a backup. The selectors have cleared Hasan Ali. He has experience. All the selectors have decided to include him in the team. No injustice was meted out to any player in the selection.”

He said, “We are hopeful. There should always be hope. We want to win the match and give happiness to the nation. Cricket unites Pakistan. Everyone is on the same page.”

It is to be noted here that the T20I World Cup will be played from June 1 to June 29 at three locations in the United States and six locations in the West Indies.
