LAHORE: (Suno News) The Lahore High Court has scheduled a hearing for the petition filed seeking dismissal of a case against former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam, who is accused of harassing a woman.

Harassment of a woman refers to any unwanted, inappropriate, or offensive behavior directed towards a woman that causes her distress, fear, or discomfort. It can take many forms.

This offence may include making inappropriate comments, jokes, or insults, often related to a woman s appearance, body, or personal life, and unwanted physical contact, such as touching, groping, or other forms of inappropriate physical behavior.

It also includes any form of unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates a hostile environment, as well as manipulative, threatening, or controlling behavior that affects the mental or emotional well-being of a woman.

It also includes cyberbullying, sending unsolicited explicit content, or spreading harmful rumors or threats over social media or other digital platforms.

Harassment can happen in any environment, including workplaces, public spaces, or private settings, and it’s important to note that it can cause significant harm to the woman affected. Legal protections exist in many countries to prevent and address such behavior.

In the petition filed by Babar Azam, the Lahore High Court (LHC) office has issued a cause list, scheduling the hearing for February 6. The court has summoned the complainant woman to appear in person on that date. Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural will hear Babar Azam’s petition.

Babar Azam has challenged the trial court’s order to register a case against him in the Lahore High Court. The High Court has suspended the trial court’s order. In his petition, the former captain has requested early dismissal of the case.
