
Pakistan’s Olympic hero, Arshad Nadeem, has done it again. With just one mighty throw, he stormed into the javelin final at the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea.
Over 2,000 athletes from 43 countries are vying for glory in this high-stakes contest. Among them, Arshad stood out by landing an explosive 86.34m on his very first attempt in the A Qualification round.
His teammate, Muhammad Yasir, also made Pakistan proud by making the cut in the B Qualification round with a 76.07m throw. He now ranks ninth going into the final.

Arshad currently leads the 21-man competition. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage follows with an 83.71m throw, while Japan’s Yuta Sakiyama is third with 81.36m.
Taking to Instagram, Arshad expressed gratitude and asked fans for their prayers ahead of the final showdown, set for 1:10pm PKT on May 31.
“Alhamdulillah qualified this morning for the final competition tomorrow… As always I would need your support and prayers,” he wrote.
Arshad’s commanding throw is a clear message that he remains a dominant force post-Paris Olympics. With the highest qualifying mark, expectations are sky-high. If he maintains form, Pakistan could see another record-breaking moment. Yasir’s presence in the final adds depth, reflecting the country’s growing strength in javelin.
