(Web Desk): Pakistan rain system 2026 brings heavy showers across Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Punjab, cooling weather but causing flooding, outages and traffic issues.

A strong Pakistan rain system 2026 has re-entered the country, bringing heavy rainfall across major cities including Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar, turning weather pleasant but also triggering urban flooding, traffic disruption, and power outages in several regions.

The latest widespread rain system in Pakistan has intensified weather activity across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and parts of Sindh, with the Meteorological Department forecasting intermittent heavy showers and thunderstorms over the next several days.

Lahore Weather Turns Pleasant After Heavy Rain

In Lahore, rain was recorded across major roads and areas including Mall Road, Jail Road, Davis Road, Gulberg, Garhi Shahu, Ferozepur Road, Chuburji, Sanda, and Upper Mall.

The rain brought a sharp drop in temperature, ending the intense heatwave and creating a cooler atmosphere across the city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Lahore’s temperature is expected to remain between 16°C to 23°C, while intermittent rain is likely to continue throughout the day.

Punjab Cities Face Heavy Rain and Urban Flooding

Other parts of Punjab, including Bahawalpur, Uch Sharif, Vehari, Kasur, Phool Nagar, Mian Channu, Abdul Hakeem, Chishtian, Rajanpur, and Quaidabad, also experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.

Low-lying areas in several cities were submerged due to water accumulation, disrupting daily life and transportation.

Peshawar Rain Causes Power Outages and Traffic Disruption

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar and surrounding areas witnessed heavy downpours, leading to waterlogging on roads and disruption of traffic flow.

Several low-lying areas were flooded, while power supply was suspended in multiple localities due to tripping of feeders, causing inconvenience to residents.

Islamabad, KP and Northern Regions Also Affected

The weather system has also brought intermittent rain to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and surrounding hill areas, with forecasts of heavy showers and possible hail in some locations.

Other districts including Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Gujrat are also expected to receive rainfall under the same system.

Sindh Weather Update and Flood Risk Assessment

A western weather system has entered Sindh, bringing expected rainfall in Karachi, Gaddap, Super Highway, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur.

However, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has stated that there is no immediate risk of urban flooding in Karachi or large-scale flooding in Sindh, despite heavy rainfall warnings.

Rain Forecast to Continue Across Pakistan

Meteorological forecasts indicate that the rain system may continue intermittently until April 9, affecting multiple regions across the country.

The weather department has warned of:

  • Heavy rainfall in isolated areas
  • Thunderstorms and strong winds
  • Possible hail in northern regions
  • Temporary flooding in low-lying urban areas

Authorities have urged citizens to take precautions during severe weather conditions.
