The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast light rain and snowfall across several districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa starting today, with showers expected to continue until November 5, 2025.
The PDMA report predicts that Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Talagang, Jhelum, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal will receive light rainfall, while Murree, Galiyat, and other northern hilly areas are expected to experience early-season snowfall.
PDMA Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia said the rain will help reduce smog levels and bring down temperatures across the province. “This spell will provide much-needed relief from smog and improve air quality,” he noted, urging citizens to wear masks and limit outdoor movement to protect against pollution-related illnesses.
Kathia added that PDMA’s control room is monitoring the situation 24/7, and emergency teams are on standby. He advised farmers to adjust their field schedules according to weather conditions and urged motorists to use fog lights and contact the PDMA Helpline 1129 in case of emergencies.
Meanwhile, Malakand, Batkhela, and surrounding areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, which cooled down the weather but caused temporary power outages.

After a prolonged dry spell, Upper Dir, Shringal, Larjam, Barwal, and nearby tourist spots received light showers, signaling the arrival of winter. Meteorologists expect more rain and snowfall in Upper Dir and other northern regions in the coming days.
Residents across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have welcomed the forecast, hoping the fresh spell of rain will clear smog and revive the region’s scenic charm.
