Rain, Thunderstorms Forecast Across Pakistan as Humidity Intensifies
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in several parts of Pakistan today as humid weather continues to affect major cities, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The weather department said Lahore is likely to remain dry over the next 24 hours, with clear skies and increasing humidity. The city's maximum temperature is expected to reach 38°C, while the minimum temperature may remain around 29°C. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 3 kilometers per hour, with humidity levels reaching 73 percent.
In Islamabad, hot and humid conditions are expected to continue, but rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely later in the day. The temperature could rise to 37°C. Morning temperatures were recorded at 26°C, while winds may blow at 9 kilometers per hour. Humidity in the federal capital has been recorded above 47 percent.
The PMD also forecast thunderstorms in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rain is expected in several northern areas, including Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan and Waziristan.
Karachi is expected to experience light drizzle as clouds continue to hover over the city. The current temperature stands at 30°C, with humidity reaching 75 percent. Winds from the southwest are blowing at 15 kilometers per hour, while the maximum temperature is expected to remain between 33°C and 35°C.
Rain is also likely in several districts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, while most other parts of the country are expected to remain hot and humid.
