(Web Desk): Rain and strong winds are expected across Punjab, while Karachi residents continue to struggle with high temperatures, humidity, and extended power cuts.

Strong winds and rain are likely to continue in Lahore and several other cities of Punjab today, bringing further relief from the intense summer heat.

Many parts of Lahore received rainfall on Thursday, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures and transforming the city's hot and uncomfortable weather into much more pleasant conditions. Residents welcomed the change after days of high temperatures and humid conditions.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, unstable weather conditions remain active over parts of Punjab, increasing the possibility of additional rain and gusty winds in Lahore and nearby cities. The wet weather is expected to keep temperatures lower than recent levels.

In contrast, Karachi is facing a different weather situation. The Met Office has forecast a maximum temperature of around 38 degrees Celsius in the city today. Weather conditions are expected to remain hot and humid during the next 24 hours.

Officials said humidity levels in Karachi have reached 75 percent, making the heat feel even more intense. Sea breezes are continuing to blow at a speed of around 18 kilometers per hour, but they have provided limited relief to residents.

Adding to public frustration, prolonged electricity outages have affected several areas of Karachi, including Central, West, South, Malir, and Korangi districts. Residents reported that load-shedding in some neighborhoods has exceeded 12 hours.

However, K-Electric has denied the claims, maintaining that no area is experiencing power outages of more than 10 hours.
