A strong western weather system has entered Balochistan, bringing light rainfall to Quetta and surrounding areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. Officials say the system is expected to persist in upper regions until April 9, raising the likelihood of widespread rain and snowfall across the country.
The Met Office has forecast rain in multiple regions including Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Snowfall is also expected in mountainous areas, potentially affecting travel and daily life in high-altitude regions.
In southern parts of the country, cities such as Karachi, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal may experience light to moderate rainfall, with isolated incidents of hailstorms.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) warned that snowfall is expected in upper areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within the next 12 to 24 hours. Authorities have also predicted scattered rain and possible hailstorms in parts of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Residents are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take precautionary measures, especially in vulnerable and mountainous areas, as changing weather conditions may disrupt transportation and infrastructure.
