Pre-monsoon rain spell starts in parts of Pakistan
Pre-monsoon showers have begun in different parts of Pakistan, bringing light to heavy rainfall to several regions. The change in weather has provided some relief from the intense heat while also causing disruptions in a number of areas.
In Punjab, rain of varying intensity was recorded in several cities. Rawalpindi and Islamabad received heavy downpours accompanied by strong winds, while Attock and nearby areas also experienced rainfall.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also witnessed pre-monsoon activity, with heavy rain and hailstorms reported in different parts of Peshawar. Abbottabad and the surrounding areas received rainfall along with strong winds, creating difficult conditions in some locations.\

In Abbottabad, a cart vendor was seriously injured after a tree fell near the Girls Degree College during the storm. The incident highlighted the risks associated with strong winds and severe weather. Heavy rainfall was also reported in Karak, Haripur, Ghazi and Khanpur, where residents experienced wet weather and temporary disruptions to daily life.
The downpours caused rainwater to accumulate in several low-lying areas. In some places, roads were submerged, while parts of the GT Road resembled a river due to standing water after the heavy rainfall. Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious during changing weather conditions, especially in areas vulnerable to flooding, falling trees, and strong winds.
