(Web Desk): Karachi rain forecast 2026 issued by PMD as rain system expected until March 29 with thunderstorms, strong winds and intermittent showers across Sindh cities.

The latest Karachi rain forecast 2026 has been issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, warning that a strong rain-bearing system is expected to affect Karachi and several parts of Sindh until March 29.

The system is likely to bring intermittent showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds, causing possible disruptions in daily life across urban areas.

Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected in Karachi

According to the PMD, residents of Karachi should prepare for periods of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas.

Authorities have issued safety advisories, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during intense weather conditions due to risks of flooding and traffic disruption.

Temporary Break in Rainfall Expected

The PMD has forecast a temporary break in rainfall on March 27, followed by renewed showers on March 28 and March 29.

This intermittent weather pattern may keep conditions unstable throughout the week, with varying intensity of rain across different parts of the city.

Areas Already Receiving Rainfall

Several neighborhoods in Karachi have already recorded rainfall, including:

  • Nazimabad
  • Water Pump
  • N.G.O. Town
  • Scheme 33
  • Gulshan-e-Iqbal
  • DHA
  • North Nazimabad
  • F.B. Area

These showers have brought brief relief from heat but also raised concerns about urban water accumulation.

Lahore Weather Also Remains Pleasant

Meanwhile, Lahore also experienced rainfall late last night, improving weather conditions across the city.

Temperatures were recorded at a minimum of 19°C and a maximum of 30°C, with humidity levels at 49% and winds blowing at 6 km/h, according to PMD data.

Week of Unstable but Pleasant Weather Ahead

The PMD has also indicated the possibility of further rainfall in the coming days, suggesting a mixed but generally pleasant weather pattern across major cities of Pakistan.
