The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide weather alert warning of rainfall, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and a drop in temperatures across Pakistan from March 17 to March 25, 2026, coinciding with the Eidul Fitr holidays.
According to the NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Centre, a strong westerly disturbance system is set to enter the country from the evening of March 17, gradually affecting multiple regions.
Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Punjab & Islamabad
The alert indicates widespread weather activity across Northern and Central Punjab, including:
- Islamabad
- Rawalpindi
- Murree
- Galyat
- Lahore
- Sialkot
- Gujranwala
These areas are likely to experience light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, while isolated hailstorms may occur in upper Punjab districts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to See Intermittent Rain & Winds
Most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to receive intermittent rainfall and gusty winds, including:
- Peshawar
- Swat
- Abbottabad
- Bannu
Weather conditions may fluctuate, with occasional breaks between rain spells.

In Balochistan, rainfall and thunderstorms are expected from March 17 to March 23, particularly in western and highland areas.

- Sukkur
- Larkana
