Lahore weather update: Rain across Punjab as western winds bring pleasant change
A fresh spell of rain has brought relief across Lahore and other parts of Punjab, as western weather systems moved into the region, significantly improving conditions and lowering temperatures.
Western Winds Trigger Rainfall Across Punjab
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the entry of western winds caused widespread cloud formation, leading to intermittent rain in multiple districts. The current temperature in Lahore has dropped to 29°C, creating a noticeably pleasant atmosphere.
Rainfall was recorded in various parts of the city, with the highest precipitation reported in Tajpura (8 mm) and Johar Town (7 mm), reflecting moderate to heavy showers in some areas.
More Rain Expected with Fluctuating Weather
Weather experts predict that Lahore will continue to experience a mix of sunshine and clouds throughout the day, with chances of additional rain at isolated locations. The minimum temperature is expected to remain around 25°C, while the maximum could reach up to 35°C.
Current weather data indicates wind speeds of approximately 11 km/h and humidity levels near 45%, contributing to the cooler and more comfortable conditions.

Waterlogging Alert Issued by WASA
Following the rainfall, authorities have raised concerns about potential water accumulation in low-lying areas. The Water and Sanitation Agency has issued an alert to manage possible urban flooding.
Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed has instructed all town directors to maintain continuous monitoring in their respective areas. Operational staff have been deployed in the field to ensure efficient drainage and respond quickly to any emergency situations.

Residents have been advised to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions, especially while traveling during rain. Authorities emphasize preparedness to avoid inconvenience due to sudden showers or waterlogging.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts further rain over the next 24 to 48 hours, which is expected to reduce heat intensity even more across Lahore and surrounding regions.
