Air pollution in Lahore has reached critical levels, with the city ranked as the most polluted globally. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) hit 408, with certain areas recording dangerously high levels: 870 in Civil Secretariat, 828 in Cantt, 386 in Askari Ten, and 228 in Iqbal Town.

Other areas included DHA Phase V at 206, Badian Road at 199, and Gulberg II at 194. Authorities have warned residents to limit outdoor activity, wear protective masks, and schedule essential tasks during lower pollution periods.
The Meteorological Department has stated that no rain is expected, and weather conditions will remain cool, limiting natural relief from pollution. Experts warn prolonged exposure can cause severe health problems, especially for children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses.
