A 4.5-magnitude Khuzdar earthquake struck Balochistan on Monday, sending tremors through the district and surrounding areas and causing residents to leave buildings. Local reports carried similar details about the earthquake’s magnitude, depth and epicentre.

According to the seismological authorities, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 30 kilometres. Its epicentre was located around 45 kilometres east of Khuzdar.

The tremors were felt across Khuzdar and nearby areas, briefly causing concern among residents.

Residents move to open spaces

As the earthquake struck, frightened residents came out of their homes and buildings and gathered in open areas as a precaution.

Local reports said some residents were seen reciting the Kalma Tayyaba after feeling the strong tremors. Similar scenes were reported as people moved away from buildings amid fears of possible aftershocks.

No casualties reported

Rescue authorities said there were no reports of deaths or injuries following the earthquake.

There were also no immediate reports of major property damage in the affected areas. Rescue and local authorities remained alert and continued monitoring the situation.
