Heavy rain lashed several parts of Lahore, prompting the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to release the city's latest rainfall data as officials intensified drainage operations in low-lying areas.

According to WASA, the highest rainfall was recorded at its Head Office in Gulberg, where 63.8 millimetres of rain fell. Other areas also received significant rainfall, including Shadipura with 55.8mm, Mughalpura with 53mm, Manawan with 44.6mm, and Johar Town with 43.8mm.

Rainfall was also recorded in Tajpura at 36mm, Farrukhabad at 19.8mm, Kahna at 19.2mm, Nishtar Town at 18.4mm, Chowk Nakhuda at 15.8mm, while both the Airport and Iqbal Town received 15mm of rain.

Additional rainfall measurements included Defence Road with 12.6mm, Upper Mall with 10mm, Saggian with 9.6mm, Jail Road with 9mm, Gulshan Ravi with 5.2mm, Samanabad with 4.4mm, Lakshmi Chowk with 4mm, and Pani Wala Talab with 3.2mm.

Following the downpour, WASA officials said field teams were immediately deployed to ensure the smooth drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas. Authorities added that pumping operations are continuing where needed to prevent prolonged water accumulation and reduce inconvenience for residents.

Officials said the situation is being monitored around the clock, and emergency response teams remain on standby to deal with any urban flooding caused by further rainfall. Citizens have been advised to exercise caution while travelling during wet weather and to avoid waterlogged roads whenever possible.
