Severe weather conditions disrupted air travel in Pakistan on Tuesday, resulting in the cancellation and delay of several domestic and international flights at Islamabad International Airport and Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

At Islamabad, flights faced cancellations due to dense fog and poor visibility on runways. Notable cancellations included Fly Jinnah’s Islamabad to Jeddah flight and AirSial’s Sukkur-bound flight. Additionally, PIA’s Gilgit flights PK-201 and PK-603 and the Skardu-bound flight PK-451 were cancelled. International flights, including those heading to Ürümqi, Istanbul, and Tehran, were also called off.

Several flights were delayed as well. Qatar Airways’ Doha-bound flight experienced over an hour’s delay. Fly Jinnah and AirSial flights heading to Karachi were delayed, while AirSial’s Riyadh-bound flight was postponed by two hours. Emirates’ Dubai-bound flight departed Islamabad after a one-hour delay.

At Karachi Airport, seven flights were cancelled due to technical and operational issues. These included:

• Airplane flight D-7109 to Kuala Lumpur
• Ethiopian Airlines ET-695 to Addis Ababa
• AirSial’s Karachi to Lahore flights PF-143 and PF-145
• AirSial’s Islamabad-bound flight PF-123
• Airblue’s Karachi to Lahore flight PA-402
• PIA’s Karachi to Lahore flight PK-306

Airlines and airport authorities advised passengers to check flight timings and contact their respective airlines before traveling. These disruptions highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan’s airports during extreme weather conditions, including fog, technical issues, and operational constraints.

Travelers are urged to remain updated via airline websites and airport notifications to avoid inconvenience. Authorities continue monitoring weather conditions to ensure passenger safety and timely updates.
