With fresh snowfall reported in Murree and Galiyat, the Punjab Highways Department has completed extensive emergency arrangements to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety. Authorities are on high alert to manage winter conditions effectively.
Salt Stocked for Road Safety
Officials said 29,000 bags of salt have been stocked in advance, with salt camps and containers set up at strategic locations. Currently, salt containers are available at Sunny Bank, Jhikka Gali, Kaltana Chowk, Banshra Gali, and along major highways to prevent road icing during snowfall. Continuous supply and timely dispersal of salt aim to keep roads clear and minimize disruptions for travelers.
Facilitation Centers for Travelers
Thirteen facilitation centers have been established across Murree, staffed round-the-clock to assist tourists and residents. These centers provide guidance, emergency help, and ensure smooth coordination with field teams during heavy snowfall.
High Alert and Emergency Readiness
Provincial Minister for Highways Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth confirmed that all departments are on high alert. Machinery, manpower, and essential resources have been mobilized to respond promptly to any emergency situation. He emphasized that public safety is the top priority during the winter spell.
