Jiangsu University has opened applications for its Presidential Scholarship 2026, offering fully funded and partially funded opportunities to international students for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programmes. The initiative, supported by the Jiangsu Provincial Government, aims to strengthen the university’s global academic profile and attract high-performing students from around the world.
Established in 1902 as Sanjiang Normal College, Jiangsu University is among China’s oldest higher education institutions. It later expanded through the merger of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang Medical College, and Zhenjiang Teachers’ College. The university is recognised for its academic excellence, research output, and emphasis on practical, innovation-driven learning.
Scholarship Categories and Coverage
The Presidential Scholarship offers multiple funding tiers:
Master’s Degree Scholarships
Type A — CNY 25,000
Eligible for:
- Outstanding JSU students progressing from bachelor’s to master’s
- Candidates recommended by “Belt and Road” partner universities
- Graduates from the world’s top 1,000 universities (US News, QS, THE, ARWU rankings)
- Graduates from China’s “First-Class Universities,” “First-Class Disciplines,” or ESI top 1% programmes

Type B — CNY 20,000
Available for all other admitted master’s applicants.
PhD Degree Scholarships
Type A — Full coverage
Includes tuition, accommodation (CNY 5,000), and living allowance (CNY 5,000).
Eligible for the same categories as the Type A master’s scholarship.
Type B — Partial funding
Covers tuition and accommodation fees for all other admitted PhD candidates.
Undergraduate Scholarships (English-taught programmes)
Coverage — CNY 10,000 (first year only)
Available to new students in:
- Material Science and Engineering
- Electronic Commerce
- Corporate Finance
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be international students
- Hold an admission offer in an approved undergraduate or postgraduate programme
- Meet age limits:
- Bachelor’s: under 25
- Master’s: under 30
- PhD: under 40
Programmes include Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Marketing, Automation, Commerce, Human Resource Management, and related fields.

- Valid passport copy
- Academic transcripts and degree certificates (with notarised English translation if needed)
- English proficiency certificate (for non-English speaking applicants)
- HSK-4 certificate (for Chinese-medium programmes)
- Two recommendation letters (master’s & PhD only)
- Research proposal (master’s & PhD only)
- Family financial statement
How to Apply
Students must first secure admission to Jiangsu University and then upload the completed Presidential Scholarship application form through the university’s online portal at admission.ujs.edu.cn.
