(Web Desk): The latest Pakistan weather forecast has warned that large parts of the country will continue to face cold and dry conditions as dense fog and hazardous air pollution in Pakistan intensify, disrupting travel and daily life.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), districts in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir are expected to experience cold to very cold weather in the coming days.

PMD stated that dense fog is likely during morning and night hours in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Rohri, Ghotki, Larkana, Mohenjo Daro, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan.

The worsening air pollution in Pakistan has pushed major cities into the global rankings of most polluted urban centers. Lahore recorded an AQI of 237, placing it among the world’s most contaminated cities. Faisalabad reported a dangerously high AQI of 772, while Gujranwala and Bahawalpur recorded 256 and 279 respectively.

Due to extremely low visibility, several sections of major motorways have been closed, including M1 from Rashakai to Peshawar, M3 from Rajana to Darkhana, M4 from Faisalabad to Multan, and M5 from Sher Shah to Zahir Pir. Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed warned that speeding and lane violations during fog can cause deadly accidents and urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel.

As visibility worsens and smog thickens, the Pakistan weather forecast continues to highlight the urgent need for precautionary travel measures and responsible public behavior to minimize risks during dense fog and hazardous pollution.
