According to the department, most regions are expected to experience cold and dry weather, with colder conditions in the hilly areas. Islamabad and its surrounding areas are also likely to remain cold. In Punjab, most districts will experience cold and dry weather, while rainfall is expected at a few areas in Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas.
It predicts foggy conditions in Multan, Khanewal, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur, with dense fog expected to blanket most parts of southern Punjab.
Rain and snowfall are predicted at some locations in Gilgit-Baltistan, while upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also expected to receive rain and snowfall. The regions including Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are likely to witness rainfall.
In Azad Kashmir and adjacent mountainous areas, rain and snowfall are expected. Some plains may see chilly winds, and parts of upper Sindh are likely to encounter fog.
The Meteorological Department has indicated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain cold and dry, with severe cold expected in the northern districts. In the next 24 hours, areas such as Swat, Shangla, Dir, Chitral, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Battagram, and Torghar are expected to see rain with thunderstorm.
In Swat, temperatures have dropped below freezing, with Kalam recording -6°C, while Chitral and Timergara recorded -2°C. Peshawar s minimum temperature was recorded at 3°C, with the maximum expected to reach 21°C.
Meanwhile, air pollution in Peshawar has soared again. According to the Environmental Department, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 211. Specific areas recorded higher AQI levels, including 263 on Dalazak Road, 200 on GT Road, 221 on Charsadda Road, and 332 on Warsak Road.
