
According to PDMA, there is a serious risk of an extreme heatwave across Punjab, particularly in the southern districts.
In major cities, including Lahore, temperatures have already touched 40°C, with further rise expected in the coming days.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, outdoor activity, strenuous exercise, or prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during peak hours.
Kathia urged people to take extra care for children, the elderly, and those with health conditions.

All the concerned departments have been put on high alert on Punjab Chief Minister’s directives. The authorities have taken special measures to ensure uninterrupted access to clean drinking water in Cholistan’s districts.
The heatwave counters have been established in hospitals across the province, and medical supplies have been stocked in anticipation of emergencies.
The PDMA is working with media outlets to continuously raise awareness about the risks of heatwaves.
Citizens are advised to stay indoors when possible, wear light-colored, loose-fitting, and stay well-hydrated, and avoid direct sun exposure.
The authority has strongly urged residents to strictly follow safety guidelines to protect themselves and their loved ones from the potentially life-threatening effects of extreme heat.
