According to the circular dated December 23, 2024, all government offices, educational institutions, and most private sector businesses will remain closed on the day to commemorate the occasion.
Labour Day, observed around the world, recognises the valuable contributions of workers and highlights the ongoing struggle for labour rights and fair working conditions.
In Pakistan, the day is traditionally marked by rallies, seminars, and public gatherings organised by trade unions and rights organisations to raise awareness and advocate for the welfare of workers.

The inclusion of Labour Day in the official holiday list reflects the government’s acknowledgment of the labour force’s importance and provides a platform for continued dialogue on workers issues.
