According to the PMD’s latest report, several parts of the country are likely to receive heavy to very heavy showers. The department has also predicted the arrival of a new monsoon spell from the evening of August 13, which is expected to continue into next week.

In Lahore, heavy rain overnight turned the weather pleasant, breaking the spell of humidity. Areas including Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Barkat Market, Canal Road, and Muslim Town recorded significant rainfall, with cool breezes clearing the oppressive conditions. The PMD has forecast intermittent showers in the city over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Karachi weather is expected to remain partly cloudy and humid today. The current temperature in the metropolis is 29°C, with a maximum temperature forecast between 32°C and 34°C.

The PMD has urged citizens to adopt safety precautions during rainfall to avoid any untoward incidents, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

With the approaching monsoon system, authorities have been advised to stay on alert for possible urban flooding and waterlogging in major cities.
