LAHORE (Web Desk): Rain in various cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa turned the weather pleasant. Disruption in flight operation is also reported.

In Punjab, various cities including Lahore, Sargodha, and Bhalwal experienced drizzle and torrential rain, breaking the heat.

Power supply has been suspended in many areas due to rain. WASA is on alert on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Rain also made the weather pleasant in Karak city and its suburbs in Pakhtunkhwa, while the pre-monsoon season began in the central and eastern regions of Balochistan.

Rain has also fallen in central and eastern Balochistan, including the Koh Sulaiman range.

Rain is also expected in Baltistan division from today. The new spell of rain is forecast to continue until June 29.

Heavy rains have also caused disruption in flight operation. According to airport sources, flight operations in Lahore have been severely affected due to bad weather. The flight arriving from Istanbul could not land in Lahore, and the plane was diverted to Karachi. Later, when the weather improved, Istanbul flight TK719, which was diverted to Karachi, departed for Lahore.

Flights to Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Colombo, Dubai, Paris, and Doha are also having difficulty landing due to poor weather conditions.

The flight from Lahore to Jeddah is delayed by 12 hours, Riyadh by 6 hours, and Abu Dhabi by 4 hours.

On the other hand, the weather in Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Islamabad, and Peshawar is also cloudy, but operations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, flight PF 769 from Riyadh to Islamabad was diverted to Multan.
