CHAMAN (Web Desk): What caused the cylinder blast that killed seven including five children and injured dozens in Chaman house tragedy? Authorities are investigating after the deadly explosion inside the house in Chaman, Balochistan.

The gas cylinder explosion killed seven people, including five children, and injured 25 others inside a house in Torpal area of Chaman, Balochistan.

The tragic incident occurred in the Torpal area of Chaman, Balochistan, where many residents, including women and children, had gathered at a house. According to police, lassi was being distributed when a gas cylinder suddenly exploded, turning a routine gathering into a scene of chaos.

Initial findings suggest that a 20 kilogram gas cylinder placed in the kitchen exploded with great force. The blast caused multiple rooms of the house to collapse, trapping several people under the debris and leading to heavy casualties.

Police and rescue teams immediately reached the site. The injured and the bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and medicolegal formalities. Authorities also called a bomb disposal squad to examine the exact nature of the explosion and rule out any other possibility.

Officials said investigations are underway to determine whether the explosion was caused by gas leakage, pressure build up or mishandling of the cylinder.

This is not the first such tragedy. Last week, 13 people, including women and children, lost their lives in a similar gas cylinder blast in Karachi’s Soldier Bazaar area, where a residential building collapsed. In another incident last month, a cylinder explosion at a hotel in Usta Muhammad injured an employee and damaged the building.

Frequent gas cylinder blasts have raised serious safety concerns. Experts say poor quality cylinders, faulty regulators and lack of safety awareness often increase the risk of such deadly accidents.

These incidents show how dangerous gas cylinders can be if not handled properly. Many families use them daily without safety checks. Strong safety rules and public awareness can help prevent such heartbreaking losses.
