Islamabad (Web Desk): Rs50,000 stipend is offered as the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) selects 1,700 engineers for the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) program with industry training across Pakistan.

The selection process was completed through a transparent digital balloting system for the program’s second batch. The event was held at the PEC Regional Office in Lahore, where Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir formally initiated the process, while senior officials joined online.

A total of 5,300 candidates applied for the program. After initial screening, 3,982 candidates were shortlisted, and finally, 1,700 candidates were selected through digital balloting.

PEC officials said the program is being managed through dedicated online portals for both employers and engineers, with partnerships established with leading public and private sector organizations to provide structured training opportunities.

Out of the total selected candidates, 300 seats were reserved for engineering graduates from Balochistan, and all of them were filled. The remaining 1,400 candidates were selected from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir said the special quota for Balochistan aims to create more opportunities for youth, reduce regional disparities, and help integrate them into the national workforce.

He described the GET program as a practical initiative designed to equip young engineers with real-world industry skills. He added that PEC remains committed to merit, transparency, and equal opportunity across all regions.

The program is fully funded by PEC and runs for six months, including five months of field training and one month of skill development. Participants receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000 and are awarded a jointly issued certificate with QR code verification upon completion.
