(Web Desk): Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has announced the launch of the second phase of the province’s electric scooter distribution scheme, aiming to expand eco-friendly transport and enhance women’s mobility.

The initiative is part of the provincial government’s strategy to provide safer, more reliable, and independent travel options for women, especially in cities where traffic congestion and limited transport choices restrict movement. “The program allows women to adopt modern, electric transport, supporting both independence and safety,” Memon said.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) has opened registrations for free Pink EV Scooties in Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Hyderabad. Students and working women are eligible to apply. Beneficiaries will also receive seven days of free training and guidance for obtaining a driving license, making it easier for them to ride confidently and legally.

Officials highlighted that the electric scooters provide a cleaner and more accessible alternative to conventional vehicles, aligning with Sindh’s green transport and sustainability goals.

The second phase of the program underscores the government’s focus on women’s empowerment and sustainable mobility, encouraging more women to use environmentally friendly transport options for commuting within urban areas.

With this initiative, Sindh not only addresses traffic challenges but also promotes a safer, greener, and more independent lifestyle for women across the province.
