The Punjab government has announced a new Electric Bike Scheme for Teachers, set to roll out in early 2026. The initiative aims to provide teachers with affordable and convenient transportation, following the successful implementation of similar programs for students.
Scheme Objective
The scheme is designed to reduce commuting expenses for teachers and make travel to schools and colleges easier. Officials emphasized that it will also contribute to environmental sustainability by encouraging the use of electric vehicles.
Eligibility Criteria
Teachers working in public sector schools and colleges across Punjab can apply.
Applicants must be in active service and meet the requirements set by the education department.
Female teachers may receive additional benefits under the special relief package.
Only eligible and verified teachers will be selected.
Application Process
Teachers will be able to apply through the official application process once the scheme is formally launched. Applicants may need to submit basic personal and service-related information. A small initial payment will be required, with the remaining cost adjustable through easy monthly installments at the institution level.
