(Web Desk): Punjab has opened Batch III of its Climate Leadership Internship, offering Rs60,000 monthly for three months with applications closing on September 18.

The Punjab government has opened applications for Batch III of the CM Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Program (Phase II), offering young graduates a paid opportunity to gain practical experience in climate action and environmental protection.

The three-month program is being offered through the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD). Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, making the program a potentially valuable opportunity for graduates seeking experience in the environmental sector.

Rs60,000 monthly stipend and duration

The internship will run for three months, with the stipend paid throughout the program. The initiative is designed to combine professional training with practical exposure and mentorship.

Participants will receive access to a Learning Management System (LMS) for structured digital learning. The program will also provide district-level learning opportunities and practical assignments related to environmental and climate issues.

Climate leadership and field exposure

Interns will get exposure to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) field offices and various EPCCD units. These include strategic and development, communications and climate policy units.

The experience is intended to help participants understand how environmental policies are developed and implemented while giving them an opportunity to work on real-world climate challenges.

The program will also include capstone projects and expert mentorship, allowing interns to apply their knowledge to environmental and sustainability-related work.

UNFCCC certification and female quota

Another major feature is UNFCCC certification, which will form part of the internship program. The initiative also reserves 50% of seats for female candidates, while a special quota is available for foreign graduates.

The selection process will be automatic and merit-based, according to information published about the program.

Punjab climate internship application deadline

Interested candidates must submit their applications online by September 18, 2026. Applications are being accepted through the designated Punjab government climate internship portal.

Applicants should carefully review the eligibility requirements and provide accurate information before submitting their forms. The program is aimed at developing young people into future climate leaders with practical skills, professional exposure and knowledge of environmental governance.

With a Rs60,000 monthly stipend, field experience, mentorship and climate-focused training, CM Punjab Climate Internship 2026 is likely to attract strong interest from graduates across the province.
