In a major relief initiative ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, the Punjab Government has announced a special financial assistance program. Under this scheme, eligible citizens will receive Rs5,000 cash Eidi to help them celebrate Eid with ease and dignity.

The move comes as part of broader efforts to provide economic relief to low-income households amid rising inflation and increased Eid expenses.

How to Check Eligibility via SMS 8070

According to officials, citizens can easily check their eligibility by sending their CNIC number via SMS to 8070. If deemed eligible, the financial assistance will be directly transferred to the applicant’s registered mobile wallet account.

Beneficiaries are advised to send the SMS from the same mobile number that is linked with their mobile wallet services such as Easypaisa or JazzCash to ensure smooth payment processing.

Eligibility Criteria for Rs5,000 Eidi Scheme

The Punjab Government has set the following basic conditions for applicants:

• The applicant must be a resident of Punjab
• A valid CNIC number is required
• For child applicants, a B-Form number must be provided
• The child’s age should be between 12 to 17 years

These criteria aim to ensure that the financial aid reaches the most deserving segments of society.

Online Portal for Registration & Guidance

To further facilitate citizens, the government has also introduced an official online portal where applicants can get detailed information and guidance regarding the registration process.

Authorities have urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid clicking on unverified links to prevent fraud or scams.

Officials stated that the primary goal of this initiative is to provide timely financial support to deserving families before Eid, enabling them to celebrate the festival with greater comfort and happiness.
