Maryam Nawaz has ordered strict security measures across Punjab for Chand Raat to ensure public safety during the busy shopping night.
She directed authorities to increase security at key locations, including bus stands, transport hubs, markets, and commercial areas. She stressed that people’s safety must not be compromised at any cost.
Additional police personnel will be deployed in crowded markets. Special women police squads will also patrol these areas to protect women and children from harassment.
To improve monitoring, the government will use drone cameras and night-vision equipment at night. This step aims to maintain close surveillance of all major locations.
Strict action will also be taken against reckless driving, including one-wheeling. Authorities have been instructed to act immediately against anyone violating the law.

Security around ATMs and banks will also be increased. Police and transport officials will maintain continuous surveillance at bus stands and terminals to prevent any incidents.
In addition, transport operators have been ordered to display fare lists clearly on their vehicles. This will help ensure transparency and prevent overcharging of passengers.
These steps show the government’s focus on maintaining law and order during one of the busiest nights before Eid.
