(Web Desk): Authorities in Lahore have arrested 110 professional beggars since the beginning of Ramadan as part of the city’s ongoing anti-begging campaign.

Lahore Police have registered cases against members of the beggar mafia at different police stations as part of an ongoing crackdown on professional begging in the city.

Bilal Siddique Kamyana, the CCPO of Lahore, said that operations against professional beggars are continuing across the city. Strict action has also been ordered against their facilitators to curb the growing problem. He directed police officials to take strong, impartial action against all professional beggars to eliminate this network.

The CCPO also called on institutions like the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and the Social Welfare Department to actively participate in rehabilitating child beggars. The aim is to rescue children from the begging networks and provide them with proper care, education, and a safer future.

Police officials emphasized that public support is crucial for the success of the campaign. With cooperation from citizens, the authorities aim to make the city free of professional begging and ensure better safety and order on streets.

The campaign is part of a wider effort to improve law and order in Lahore and protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
