(Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the Rehmat Card project to provide financial support to widows and orphaned children across the province.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the launch of the Rehmat Card project to support widows and children who have lost their parents.

Chairing a special meeting, the chief minister announced that the Rehmat Card will be introduced as the first initiative of its kind in Punjab’s history to assist vulnerable families. Special Assistant on Zakat and Ushr Rashid Nasrullah gave a detailed briefing on the project and its implementation plan.

Officials said that beneficiaries under the Rehmat Card will receive financial assistance of up to Rs100000. In the first phase, more than 40000 eligible families will benefit from the scheme. The project is expected to officially launch soon after Eid.

Under the program, widows and orphaned children will receive Rs25000 each as direct support. Authorities stated that applications for the Rehmat Card can be submitted through a mobile application, an online web portal, a helpline, or by visiting the Zakat office.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that every citizen has a right to the province’s resources and the government will ensure assistance reaches deserving people. She emphasized that the aim of the Rehmat Card is to promote financial independence among widows and help them start small businesses.

Officials added that the initiative will enable widows and orphaned children to live dignified lives with greater financial stability.
