(Web Desk): Authorities have announced road closures and traffic diversions around Islamabad’s Red Zone on March 6 to manage security and traffic flow.

The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for March 6, 2026, announcing multiple road closures and diversions around the Red Zone to regulate traffic and ensure security arrangements.

According to officials, entry into the Red Zone will remain open only through Margalla Road and the route passing near the Islamabad Marriott Hotel. All other entry points leading toward the Red Zone will remain closed to traffic during the advisory period.

Authorities confirmed that Kulsum Plaza on Fazl-e-Haq Road toward China Chowk will also remain closed for vehicles. Commuters have been advised to use Jinnah Avenue as an alternative route. Traffic coming from Polyclinic toward Lal Quarter Chowk via Luqman Hakeem Road will face diversions, and motorists are encouraged to take Saddar Road as a substitute path.

The advisory further states that travelers moving from G-6 to F-6 sectors should use the China Chowk Underpass or travel via Seventh Avenue through Jinnah Avenue. Traffic between Aabpara Chowk and Serena Hotel via Suhrawardy Road will also be redirected.

Motorists coming from Club Road are advised to use Kashmir Chowk through Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue, and Margalla Road. Similarly, residents traveling from Bhara Kahu should follow the same alternative route to avoid road closures.

In an official social media post, Islamabad Police confirmed these restrictions and urged citizens to plan their travel in advance to avoid inconvenience.
