The initiative, called the Punjab Climate Leadership Development Internship Programme, will give students and graduates the chance to gain practical experience while working on environmental issues.
Under the programme, selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 during the three-month internship. Participants who complete the programme will also receive an official internship certificate from the Government of Punjab.
Officials said the initiative is designed to prepare young people for leadership roles in environmental governance and climate action. The programme will also provide international exposure through certification in collaboration with UNESCO.
Interns will work with officers from the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency and assist in environmental policy units. They will also gain experience with modern learning management systems and contribute to projects related to environmental protection in their respective districts.
To promote equal opportunities, authorities have reserved 50 percent of the seats for female students.
