(Web Desk): Punjab Home Department starts formal registration for kite makers, sellers, and associations to ensure safe and organized Basant celebrations.

Ahead of Basant in Punjab, the Home Department has initiated a formal registration process for kite and string makers, sellers, and kite flying associations to ensure safe and organized celebrations. Officials said the new regulations aim to prevent accidents and misuse of dangerous materials during the festival.

According to the Home Department, a detailed procedure has been prepared for all participants, while the registration process for kite associations has also been finalized. Form “A” is mandatory for registration, and registered individuals will be issued a government certificate along with Form “B.” Similarly, Forms “C” and “D” have been designated for kite flying associations.

Authorities emphasized that the size, material, and quality of kites and strings will be strictly enforced according to Schedule One. The production and sale of substandard or chemical-coated strings will be completely prohibited. Registered associations will assist in Basant arrangements under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner to prevent any dangerous or prohibited activities.
