The notification, issued by the Welfare Wing of the S&GAD, stated that the decision has been taken for general information and will apply throughout the province of Punjab. All public and government offices, educational institutions and relevant departments are expected to remain closed during the two-day holiday period.

The provincial government has also directed that the notification be published in all major English and Urdu newspapers at both national and regional levels to ensure maximum public awareness.
In addition, electronic media has been instructed to give wide publicity to the announcement so that the public, government employees and private institutions can make necessary arrangements in advance.
