(Web Desk): Sindh government announces public holiday on Jumma-Tul-Wida, closing offices to allow citizens to attend religious gatherings and rallies safely.

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Jumma-Tul-Wida, allowing citizens to participate freely in religious gatherings and processions.

Nasir Hussain Shah, the Minister for Local Government, confirmed that government offices will remain closed on this day, citing respect for the religious significance and public sentiment associated with Jumma-Tul-Wida.

Security Measures and Guidelines for Processions

Authorities have issued directives to maintain law and order, ensuring that religious processions and rallies proceed peacefully. While Karachi will name a key road after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Minister Shah clarified that no rallies will be allowed on Shahrah-e-Faisal during Jumat-ul-Wida.

He urged religious and political organizations to follow traditional and pre-approved routes for their rallies to maintain peace. The city administration has deployed special security arrangements, including police and Rangers, to prevent any untoward incidents.

Additional Religious Observances

Apart from Jumma-Tul-Wida, Youm-e-Ali processions are also being observed across major and minor cities nationwide. In Karachi, heightened security measures include roadblocks, container barriers, and deployment of heavy police and paramilitary personnel, particularly around the Saddar area, to ensure safety for participants.

Authorities are monitoring procession routes closely and have appealed to citizens for cooperation so that religious events are conducted peacefully and without disruption.
