ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Islamabad and Beijing from July 3, 2026, strengthening air connectivity between Pakistan and China.

The move comes in response to rising demand from students, business travelers, tourists, and families who need faster and more convenient travel options between the two countries. Officials said the direct route will reduce travel time and remove the hassle of connecting flights. Passengers will also benefit from improved convenience, competitive fares, and better baggage allowances.

The development has been widely welcomed, especially by Pakistani and Chinese students studying abroad. Many students have faced difficulties due to limited direct travel options in recent years. Educational institutions, student groups, and travel industry stakeholders called the decision timely, especially ahead of the new academic sessions and the busy summer travel season.

Experts believe the restored service will support smoother movement of students, researchers, and academics, while also encouraging stronger educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Tourists and families are also expected to benefit from the direct flights, as the route will offer more flexibility and significantly reduce travel time compared to connecting routes. Travel agencies and tourism operators reported strong interest from passengers following the announcement, saying the direct link will make travel more affordable and convenient.

In a statement, PIA management reaffirmed its commitment to improving connectivity between Pakistan and China. The airline said the restored route will support tourism, trade, education, and cultural exchange. Officials added that the step reflects efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen relations between the people of both countries.

The resumption of the Islamabad-Beijing route is seen as a positive step in improving transport links and reinforcing the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
